Barcelona Design Week ’21
We teamed up with Barcelona Centre de Disseny (BCD) to create the visual identity for Barcelona Design Week. The goal was to create a timeless graphic system that was relevant for 2021 and the years to come, serving as the base for all future endeavours of the organisation.
The challenge of the project was to create an identity that would be capable of showcasing the work of diverse fields within the design sector, such as graphic, industrial, architecture, fashion, to name a few. In addition, we needed to guarantee its relevance over time, while respecting their brand identity up to this moment.
Three main elements constitute the concept: First, the simplification of the logo results in bold initials that provide a striking visual effect. On a second level, we conceive the Design Week as a fragment in time in which all of these activities happen. Therefore, we evolved the initials to variable frames in which all of the content will be showcased.
Last but not least, we gave a twist to the brand’s claim, by associating a geometric shape to each of the concepts to better represent and expand the identity in every level.
